College Football Quick Picks: Conference Championship Week
#5 Cincinnati -2 @ #15 Pittsburgh, 12:00 on ABC
Not the Big East championship game, but the matchup of the best two teams in the conference. Pittsburgh had a very shaky loss last week, and I like Cincy to go undefeated and be snubbed from any chance in hell at the National Championship game.
Cincinnati 31, Pittsburgh 20
#10 Georgia Tech -1 vs. Clemson, 8:00 on ESPN
Tech will be the better team in the neutral field matchup for the ACC Championship game. Since the line is basically even, I say they squeak it out and roll to a BCS bowl based on Nesbitt’s ability to make plays late in the game.
Georgia Tech 27, Clemson 24…UNDER 57 points
#21 Houston -3 @ East Carolina, 12:00 on ESPN2
Houston puts up points like nobody’s business. They will force the Conference USA Championship to be a shootout and win late, but maybe not over 70 points…
Houston 35, East Carolina 31
#3 Texas -14.5 vs. #22 Nebraska, 8:00 on ABC
Nebraska is the last team that stands in the way of the Horns’ undefeated season and a spot in the National Championship game. Texas has the firepower obviously, but Nebraska should cover the spread in the Big 12 Championship game.
Texas 28, Nebraska 17
#1 Florida -6 vs. #2 Alabama, 4:00 on CBS
Oh right, the most hyped game of the year is here! This SEC Championship is gonna be a rockfight. So much at stake, and I think the key is the Alabama D against Tim Tebow. Betters should stay away from this one, cause I don’t see it getting out of hand either way. I’ll go against the grain and pick Alabama by 1 on a defensive play to win the game.
Florida 20, Alabama 21
