Despite there being about 14000 different trade rumors floating around, there hasn’t been one deal finalized yet. The deadline of February 18 is fast approaching (next Thursday), and finally the Boston Celtics have entered the NBA trade gossip.

The Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats are discussing a trade centered around Glen Davis and D.J. Augustin, according to league sources. The sources cautioned that nothing is imminent, but said the clubs are having discussions. A straight-up trade would not work because Davis is a base-year compensation player, so other players would have to be involved to meet the financial requirements. That could be a sticking point in the deal.

Bottom line: the C’s need a backup point guard, and “Big Baby” is complaining like a Big Baby about his nickname. Pull the trigger, guys. Pull the trigger.
